Buy Fresh Buy Local QC Chapter Dinner

About 2 weeks after the Figge gig, Lost In The Weeds was fortunate to be asked to play for the Buy Fresh Buy Local Quad Cities Chapter dinner. It took place in the Butterworth Center in Moline, IL.

The Butterworth Center is a grand dame of a home and site for a variety of special events, functions, meetings, etc. It's a real treat to play in such a beautiful home.

The photos were taken by Mike Mullinnix, friend, co-worker, photographer, graphic designer, and one of the board members of the Buy Fresh Buy Local Quad Cities Chapter. He certainly knows how to get a good, rich photo. He's probably one of the most enthusiastic and passionate individuals I know. I'm tempted to say he could sell a freezer to an eskimo but I don't think he's tried that yet, though he's been to Alaska for the salmon and the beer more than once.

That's Steve Flatt sittin' in, Flatt pickin' guitar!

After that gig we played at a coffeeshop and bookstore in downtown Rock Island. It was the 50th anniversary of the writing of "On The Road" by Jack Kerouac. Several friends of the bookstore's owner, Greg Mohr, were in attendance all day long and late into the night for a read through of Kerouac's classic. Peculiar thing, the place closed down a day or two later...I'm startin' to wonder...we seem to be starting a trend (I hope not) of closing places down!
